A Closer look at the Historic Number of Women in Elective Office 2019


January 3rd, 2019 , was an historic day for women. The 116th congress inaugurated a record number of women and especially women of color making it the most diverse class of lawmakers in history. Read more here.

Given the grandeur of this event and in honor of these women, I created an infographic that demonstrates the data in numbers. I looked at the number of women as well as the number of women of color in congress, state legislatures and statewide elective executive positions.

I hope that this moment in history will inspire more young women to join the ranks of leadership at the state and national levels to affect true and lasting change.
